KAVALAN EX-SHERRY OAK, YILAN, TAIWAN
An award winning Sherry Solist reduced to 46% alcohol volume with Kavalan spring water, this is a perfect introduction to the outstanding new world whisky. This rich and complex whisky opens onto notes of dried fruit and walnut with some marzipan and vanilla touches to it. The palate is smooth, with rancio red fruits (raspberry, red currant) and spices.
Floral and spicy on the nose with a well-balanced mouth feel and flavor — up-front and back-end spice, cinnamon on the mid-palate. Underlying notes of dried fruit and black cherry with hints of tobacco, vanilla and oak.
Dry Fly Bourbon 101 was the first legal bourbon ever made in the state of Washington! It features a 60% corn (grown by our local Hutterian Settlement), 20% wheat, and 20% barley mash bill. Aged in 53-gallon barrels for a minimum of 3 years, it has strong corn forward notes.
Aged in American Oak (ex-bourbon) and distilled using peated grain sourced from Inverness – Scotland, this single malt was recognised as the nation’s best at the Malt Whisky Society of Australia Awards for Excellence in 2010. True Scotch lovers will be in awe of this delightful Tasmanian crafted drop. 46.2% alc/vol. Presented in a stunning canister.
A whiff of burnt fern smokiness greets the nose with typical hints of citrus, lemon and orange presenting through the haze. The palate is further complimented by a citrus sweetness with overtones of malt presenting. A lingering aftertaste conjures fresh forest regeneration with layers of smoke and pepper omnipresent.
Elegant flavours of vanilla cream, toffee, coconut.
Big, sweet aromas of clove, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. The palate is full, round and sweet, with the spice and vanilla complementing the core distillery characters and leaving a long finish.
Pour yourself a dram of Benromach – not too wee and not too big. Swirl the golden liquid around your glass and notice the AROMA WITHOUT WATER. In other words, take a sniff. Indeed, indulging in several little inhalations is the best way to pick up all the different notes… rich sherry with fruit & nut chocolate, delicate spice, green apples, malty biscuit and a touch of light peat smoke. Now sip your dram, roll the whisky around your mouth and enjoy the TASTE WITHOUT WATER… juicy raspberries and brambles, sherry, creamy malt and a light peat. Next, take in the AROMA WITH WATER… it’s a wee bit nutty with a touch of charred oak and malt, and there’s also some fancy pineapple and kiwi. Add a drop or two of water to release the full TASTE WITH WATER. Savour the succulent mouth coating and taste the toasted malt, delicate peat smoke and lingering sweet sherry… our gorgeous classic Benromach Speyside style of single malt whisky.
