TALISKER STORY<\/strong>
\nBuilt by the side of Loch Harport on the western shores
\nof the Isle of Skye by Hugh and Kenneth
\nMacGaskill(sons of the local Doctor) in 1830. The name
\nTalisker comes from the Norse, Thalas Gair, meaning
\n\u201csloping rock\u201d
\nIn 1880, Robert Louis Stevenson describes it as \u201cthe
\nKing o\u2019 Drinks\u201d and by 1900 it was already one of the
\nbest selling whiskies in the world.
\nIn 1960, the still house was completely destroyed by
\nfire. Two years later, the distillery re-opened, the old
\nstills having been replaced with exact copies.<\/p>\n

\nNose:<\/strong> Powerful peat smoke with just a hint of sea-water saltiness,
\nfresh oysters and a citrus sweetness

\nPalate:<\/strong> A rich dried-fruit sweetness with clouds of smoke and
\nstrong barley-malt flavours, warming and intense. Pepper at the
\nback of the mouth.
\nFinish:<\/strong> Huge, long, warming and peppery in the finish with an
