The name<br \/>\nTalisker comes from the Norse, Thalas Gair, meaning<br \/>\n\u201csloping rock\u201d<br \/>\nIn 1880, Robert Louis Stevenson describes it as \u201cthe<br \/>\nKing o\u2019 Drinks\u201d and by 1900 it was already one of the<br \/>\nbest selling whiskies in the world.<br \/>\nIn 1960, the still house was completely destroyed by<br \/>\nfire.
