CARDHU STORY<\/strong>
\nCardhu Distillery-previously called Cardow-must be one
\nof the best-located distilleries in Speyside. High on the
\nhills on the north side of the Spey Valley with extensive
\nviews to the south, it is also the spiritual home of Johnnie
\nWalker; the number one blended Scotch whisky in the
\nworld.
\nBy the time John Cumming bought a license for his
\nCardhu distillery in 1824, he and his wife Helen had
\nalready been producing illicit whisky for 13 years.
\nWhenever the Excise officers passed by, Helen would
\ndisguise the mashing and fermenting as bread-making.
\nThen, while the officers drank the tea she made for them,
\nshe would fly a red flag from the barn to warn their
\nneighbours that revenue men were around.<\/p>\n

PERFECT SERVE<\/strong>
\nCardhu 12 Year Old is a generous, multi-layered malt
\nwhisky. Richly fruity, with honey and nut flavours, it is
\nbest enjoyed neat or on the rocks.<\/p>\n

Appearance:<\/strong> Golden Honey
\nNose:<\/strong> Heady, pear drops and sweet honey-nut notes, with faint
\ntraces of wood smoke
\nBody:<\/strong> Soft, pleasing, medium
\nPalate:<\/strong> Well balanced, sweet and fresh, then a pronounced drying
\neffect
\nFinish:<\/strong> Short, lingering sweet smoke with an attractive, drying
