CLYNELISH STORY<\/strong>
\nThe original distillery at Clynelish was purpose built to
\nserve the new farms being established on the fertile land
\nof Sutherland\u2019s coastal strip. For a cost of just \u00a3750 in
\n1819, the future Duke of Sutherland was able to provide
\na ready market for the barley grown by his tenant
\nfarmers. It\u2019s from these origins that we\u2019re able to enjoy
\nthe highly regarded Clynelish today.<\/p>\n

The economic recession of 1931 forced the distillery to
\nclose. Production restarted in 1938, only to shut down
\nagain from May 1941 until November 1945 due to
\nrestrictions on the supply of barley during World War
\ntwo.<\/p>\n

In the 1960\u2019s, Clynelish was brought up to date when
\nelectricity was installed and still which had previously
\nbeen heated by a hand-fired coal burning furnace were
\nconverted to internal steam heating. Then, true to its
\norigins as a model design, Clynelish was replaced by a
\nnew distillery built on an adjacent site in 1967-68.<\/p>\n

PERFECT SERVE<\/strong>
\nClynelish 14 Year Old has floral fragrances and maritime
\nflavours with a light, dry finish, best appreciated on the
\nrocks or neat.<\/p>\n

Appearance<\/strong>: Yellow Gold
\nNose<\/strong>: Light candle wax, sugar. Faint floral fragrance. Scented
\ncandle wax comes up with water. Dried flowers on a beach. Later,
\nbrown sugar
\nBody<\/strong>: Firm, light to medium
\nPalate<\/strong>: Pleasant, creamy mouthfeel; maritime generally
