CAOL ILA STORY<\/strong>
\nCaol Ila is the Gaelic name for the Sound of Islay, which
\nseparates the island from Jura in one of the most remote
\nand beautiful parts of Scotland’s West Coast. Caol Ila is
\nthe only distillery on Islay to face due east, and every
\nmorning the six stills are the first to feel the dawn of the
\nday on their copper faces.
\nNestled in a hidden cove near Port Askaig, the Caol Ila
\n(pronounced \u201cCull Eela\u201d) distillery sent its whisky to
\nmarket by sea for over a hundred years.<\/p>\n

\nCaol Ila 12 Year Old is a fresh, sweetly fruity and smoothbodied,
\nwith a delicate balance of tastes which is best enjoyed
\nneat or on the rocks.<\/p>\n

Appearance<\/strong>: Pale Straw
\nNose<\/strong>: Subdued, citric fruitiness, a fresh and appetizing nose, with
\nlittle or no trace of smoke.
\nBody<\/strong>: Firm, smooth, light to medium
\nPalate<\/strong>: Drinks well at natural strength; sweet start; pleasant, light
\nfragrant smokiness and a lengthy finish. Smooth, pleasant
\nmouth-feel.. A complex balance of primary tastes.
