LAGAVULIN STORY<\/strong>
\nFounded in 1816 by local farmer John Johnston,
\nsucceeding more than 10 illicit stills that had previously
\nbeen on the site. Now one of eight operating distilleries
\non Islay off the west coast of Scotland
\nNamed Lagavulin after a Gaelic word meaning \u201cthe
\nhollow where the mill is\u201d<\/p>\n

Aged in ex bourbon casks, the high levels of peat,
\ncoupled with its rich flavours make this the definitive
\nIslay malt and the Holy Grail for many whisky drinkers.<\/p>\n

PERFECT SERVE<\/strong>
\nLagavulin 16 Year Old is an intense, smoky-sweet single
\nmalt with seaweed flavours and a huge finish, aged in oak
\ncasks for at least sixteen years. This is best appreciated
\nneat or on the rocks.<\/p>\n
