The 9th edition of the Indian and International Wine Consumers Choice Awards

All Things Nice held its annual wine competition – the Indian Wine Consumers Choice Awards (IWCCA) in Mumbai on the 18th of January 2020 at Sofitel Mumbai BKC.

IWCCA 2020 partners includedTitle Sponsor – Shaze, Hospitality Partner – Sofitel Mumbai BKC, Veen Waters. Print Media Sponsor – Uppercrust Magazine, TV Media Partner – Zee Living Foodz.

The aim of IWCCA 2020 is to continue to give Indian consumers an opportunity to judge for themselves and on behalf of other consumers the best Indian & International wines available in the country. This annual accreditation, a brainchild of Sommelier Nikhil Agarwal (CEO – All Things Nice) opens the doors for consumers to acknowledge and celebrate new vintages and new wines launched in the market, as well as provide insight to wineries about what the rapidly increasing Indian market is inclined towards.

All domestically produced wines, as well as International Wines imported into India were professionally categorized into a systematic blind tasting done by actual wine enthusiasts who judged the wine based on the quality of the wine alone.

‘In its 9th year the Indian Wine Consumer’s Choice Awards is bigger and more relevant. Wine consumption is growing at a steady rate and the IWCCA gives people a unique opportunity to make buying decisions based on the preferences of global and Indian wine aficionados themselves’ says Nikhil Agarwal, Sommelier and CEO of All Things Nice and the mastermind behind the IWCCA.

This competition thereby reveals an independent list of finest wines available in India judged by the very people who drink them. The consumers taste the wines blind, unaware of the brand name or price point thereby allowing an unbiased judgment based purely on the quality of the wine itself. The only information provided is the grape varietal/s and country. Over 200 wines were entered into the competition and judged by approximately 100 people from all over the world who live in India. The following wines were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at the IWCCA 2020.
